LAIRD TECHNOLOGIES ADDS TO ITS BOARD LEVEL SHIELD STANDARD PRODUCT OFFERING Standard Products Offer a Fast, Easy Solution

Laird Technologies, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of antenna solutions, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding products, telematics, signal integrity products and thermal management solutions, today announced the addition of new Board Level Shield (BLS) products to its standard product line.
The BMIS-226 Frame and Cover and BMIS-208 Frame and Cover sets add two additional footprints to the BMI series of standard BLS products offered by Laird Technologies. By adding these additional offerings, the company is expanding the standard options available to customers. Standard products can save time because customers do not need to wait for design and manufacturing. They can also save money because there are no tooling or specialty costs associated with the product.
“As we continue to expand our customer base, we are asked more and more for off-the-shelf products,” said Steve Ulm, global product director. “These types of products are a benefit to our customers who don’t need or want high volumes or the investment that comes with custom tooling. By offering our customers a choice of custom BLS designs and off-the-shelf items, we increase our ability to serve our customers. Additionally, with our distribution partner, Sager Electronics, we increase the availability and service levels for these types of parts. Also, these two new footprints can be purchased from Sager as we have them on their shelves.”
The BMI series of standard parts come in a range of footprints and in both single price shield and two-piece shields. Pricing for these parts vary based on volume and size. All BLS standard products are made of tin-plated cold rolled steel and meet RoHS requirements.
