LAIRD TECHNOLOGIES UNVEILS CERAMIC ANTENNA FOR WIRELESS DEVICES
Adaptable Product Offers Low Dielectric Losses, Reduced Costs

Laird Technologies, a leading designer and manufacturer of electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding, thermal management, telematics, and wireless antenna solutions, introduced today ceramic antennas targeted at the handset and wireless data device markets.
The small-form ceramic antennas, which are available now, come equipped with Bluetooth, wireless local area network and global positioning system capabilities that can be integrated into Personal Computer Memory Card International Association cards, mobile handsets, laptops and other wireless products. Laird Technologies’ ceramic antennas also grant users low dielectric losses and high isolation from other antennas all while shrinking expenses.
“Laird Technologies’ fully adaptable ceramic antennas offer standard platforms, short lead times and traditional assembly processes,” said Goran Sandstrom, global account manager, Laird Technologies. “Customers’ costs are reduced too since additional connectors are not required for the products. With more than one billion antennas sold, we have the experience and know-how to handle high-volume manufacturing for this unique product.”
Laird Technologies’ broad product portfolio includes three different offerings: existing standard antennas; tuned or adaptive antennas with customized antenna specifications and original dimensions; and fully customized antennas for specific antenna patterns and dimensions.
Ceramic antennas prices range from 15 to 40 cents depending on order size and type of antenna.
